For the month of December, Richard Resident of the Month.
We are proud to honor Richard as our Resident of the month. His life story is
filled with dedication, resilience, and heartfelt family values.
Richard was born in Carbondale, Colorado, where he spent his early childhood
before moving with his family to Denver. He began school there and later graduated from Durango High School. Shortly after, Richard chose to serve his
country and joined the United States Army, He was stationed in Saigon Vietnam,completing one tour. Richard often shares that Vietnam was a beautiful place and that he wished that he could of
experienced it under different circumstances.
After returning home, he finished his service at Fort Knox.
When his military days came to an end, Richard moved back to Carbondale and
began working for a trucking company. One Evening, while attending a country-western dance in nearby Aspen with a few friends, his life life took a wonderful
turn.
That night, he met Marcia - the love of his life. Together they built a loving family. Their family grew to include one son and one daughter. Their family later
grew to include three grandchildren and one cherished great granddaughter.
Today Richard enjoys reading American history on his computer, spending quality time with Marcia and his grandson, and visiting with friends and loved ones.
His warm personality, fascinating life experiences, and kindness make him a joy
to have in our community.
