For the month of September, David Morison Resident of the Month.
Born April 17th, 1923 in Lakewood, OH. David is a very accomplished man. Dave served in the United States Air Force from 1942 untill 1945. After he started on a ship called the US Pueblo that held 10,000 people. They traveled to places such as New Guinea, Philippines and Okinawa. Dave married on October 29th, 1955. He was also a draftsman in Ft. Collins. Dave enjoyes building and flying model air planes. He has always been keenly into ice skating as well as roller skating, stamp collecting, hiking, climbing and biking. During his biking trips he and his wife would collect soda cans from the side of the road and cash them in. This paid for their trip in 1959 where they took their bikes and traveled from the Netherlands, through Germany, Austria and Switzerland. That same bike is in a museum right here in Grand Junction that he donated in 2010. Dave was also the first person to ride a bicycle with balloon tires with no gears through Rust Canyon to Stove Prairle, down to Paudre Canyon. We love you so much Dave, you are our resident athlete.
